What "hang dog" means in rock climbing
In rock climbing, "hang dog" refers to the practice of taking multiple rests or falls on a single section of a climb, rather than climbing it all in one go. This technique is often used by climbers to progressively work out and master a challenging route. While it may not be the most impressive style of climbing, hang dogging can be an important step in a climber's progress towards eventually completing a difficult climb in one continuous ascent.
