What "beta" means in rock climbing
In rock climbing, "beta" refers to information or instructions given to a climber to help them successfully complete a particular climb. This information can include suggestions for hand and foot placements, techniques for specific moves, and other tips or insights. Experienced climbers often share beta with each other to help increase their chances of success on challenging routes. However, some climbers prefer to figure out beta on their own as part of the challenge and satisfaction of climbing.
