What "pin" means in chess

A pin is a tactic where a piece is immobilized and cannot move without exposing a more valuable piece behind it to capture. This is achieved by placing a long-range attacking piece such as a rook, bishop, or queen on a piece, and if the piece moves, the more valuable piece behind it will be captured. The piece is then considered "pinned" and cannot move.
