What "point guard" means in basketball

In basketball, a point guard is typically the team's primary ball-handler, responsible for initiating the team's offensive plays. They are often the shortest player on the court and are required to possess strong ball-handling skills, court vision, and decision-making abilities. Point guards are also expected to be proficient at shooting, both inside and outside of the arc, and to be able to set up their teammates for scoring opportunities.
