What "triple play" means in baseball
"Triple play" is a term used in baseball when the defensive team completes three outs on a single play. This can happen when there are runners on first, second, and third base, and the batter hits a ground ball to an infielder. The infielder steps on third base, then throws to second base for the second out, and then throws to first base for the third out, all in one continuous play. Triple plays are a rare occurrence in baseball and are considered a great feat of teamwork and skill on the defensive side.
