What "outfielder" means in baseball
In baseball, an outfielder is a player who defends the outfield area. The outfielders are positioned far away from the home plate and behind the infielders. Their primary job is to catch fly balls hit by the opponents and, at times, to throw the ball back to the infield to make force-outs or tag-outs. The typical outfield positions include left field, center field, and right field.
