What "dugout" means in baseball

In baseball, a dugout is the area where the players and coaches sit or stand when they are not playing. Dugouts are typically located on either side of the playing field, close to the home plate and the pitching mound. They can be fully enclosed or partially open, and they may be elevated to provide a better view of the game.
