What "center field" means in baseball

In baseball, "center field" refers to the area of the outfield between right and left field. This position is typically played by an outfielder who is responsible for covering a lot of ground and catching fly balls hit into the center field area. Center fielders also have to be able to throw accurately to the infield when necessary.
